Julies Story - Evading Eviction

Julie came to the CAB as she had received letters from her private landlord stating he wanted herself and her family to leave the property they rented from him. Julie’s husband was an alcoholic and his drinking had caused the family to be in debt and their rent was several months in arrears. The Local Authority carried out their enquiries and stated they could not help Julie with permanent accommodation, because she had made herself and her family intentionally homeless. The CAB and Julie decided to challenge this decision.

Every day in Citizens Advice Bureaux up and down the country client’s visit with similiar problems.
