Nautilus UK is the union for maritime professionals at sea and ashore. Nautilus UK provides care and support for its members throughout their careers - and beyond, into retirement. NUMAST Welfare Funds (a registered charity, administered by Nautilus UK) offers an extensive range of specialist welfare services for retired seafarers of all ranks - ratings and officers - and their dependants.

At the heart of Nautilus UK's welfare work is Mariner’s Park, on the banks of the River Mersey in Wallasey. This site provides houses, bungalows and flats for nearly 140 residents living independently, and many use the Park's own Domiciliary Care service - providing personal care and domestic help in the resident's own home. The Park also has a 32-bed Registered Care Home for those needing residential nursing or short-term/respite care.

This DVD looks at the work of the NUMAST Welfare Funds, through the eyes of the staff, the residents, the family of residents and the Secretary of NUMAST Welfare Funds.
