Red Cross Ball 2009
Red was definitely the IT colour for this year’s Red Cross Ball which was celebrated on November 14th at Thornton Hall Hotel & Spa. Attended by Mayor and Mayoress of Wirral Andrew and Kathryn Hodson and over 240 guests the spectacular event raised more than £20,000.
It was an evening full of surprises and excitement – all guests were greeted in a beautiful marquee with a red rose and reception drink, the luxurious welcome present was a scented candle kindly donated by ESPA which brought a smile to everybody’s face and started the evening off in style.
The evening commenced with a dramatic opening performed by the Wirral Pipe Band and during Dinner Holly Wright entertained the audience with songs from Kathryn Jenkins and got standing ovations for her touching singing.
The money raised from the Red Cross Ball will go a long way to provide British Red Cross services to both the local community and will help provide disaster relief overseas. For more information about the Red Cross visit www.redcross.org.uk
