St James 5th Birthday Celebrations

On the 16th of February, Birkenhead born star Patricia Routledge returned to her home town to celebrate St James Centre's fifth bithday with local residents. The actress best known for playing Hyacinth Bucket in Keeping Up Appearances opened the centre in 2005. The actress marked her return by reading from children's classic The Wind in the Willows, presenting a Tidy Business award to the St James team and an Inclusive Award to Bidston and St James Children's Centre.

The Cascade team co-hosted the birthday party, organising lots of activites for the public to enjoy including belly dancing, flower arranging, storytelling, mosaic making, songwriting, bath fizz making and lots more. The event also featured a 'Ready Steady Cook Off' with two teams competing to rustle up the tastiest dish against the clock.
