Wirral Country Park and Proposed Wind Turbine

Irby, Thurstaston and Pensby Amenity Society (ITPAS) produced this short film about Wirral Country Park and the proposed wind turbine near to the Thurstaston Visitor Centre.

A few years ago, Wirral Country Park had some resurfacing work carried out between Thurstaston and West Kirby. The Friends Group along with officers from Wirral Borough Council have since been trying to obtain external funding to upgrade the Visitor Centre at Thurstaston and continue the path renewal from Thurstaston to Heswall and beyond to the Merseyside/ Cheshire boundary.

Unfortunately, they were unable to secure funding for the Visitor Centre, but they were able to conduct the second phase of the path renewal along the Wirral Way.

ITPAS were approached by officers from Wirral Borough Council in the early part of 2008, with a view to consulting them about a proposed Wind Turbine near to the Thurstaston Visitor Centre, which would assist with electricity and some heating. ITPAS have produced this video to allow all Wirral residents to see the proposed plans.
